MoodFlow ("we", "our", "the app") is a personal mood-tracking application developed and operated by Maya Technologies Ltd ("the developer", "Maya Technologies"). This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using MoodFlow you agree to the practices described below.
MoodFlow is published by Maya Technologies Ltd. The developer can be reached at tushar.kanaujia@gmail.com for any privacy questions or data requests.
| Data | When collected | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | At sign-up | Account identification and sign-in. |
| Display name | During profile setup | Personalising the in-app experience. |
| Mood entries (timestamp, 1–10 value, label, emoji, optional free-text note) | Each time you log a mood | Core function of the app — viewing your history, trends, and insights. |
| Location (latitude, longitude, reverse-geocoded address) | Only when you grant location permission and only at the moment a mood is logged | Tagging a mood entry with the place it occurred. The app does not track location in the background. |
| Weather conditions at logging time | Derived from your latitude/longitude via the public wttr.in service | Shown alongside your mood entry for context. |
| Saved locations (home/work labels + coordinates) | If you choose to save them in Settings | Displayed as reference pins on the mood map. |
| Notification preferences | From the Settings screen | Scheduling local reminder notifications. |
| Subscription / purchase status and transaction identifiers | When you buy or restore a premium subscription | To unlock premium features and validate purchases. |
| Crash reports & diagnostic data (device model, OS version, app version, error traces) | Automatically, if the app crashes or errors | Diagnosing bugs and improving stability (via Sentry). |
Account data and mood entries are stored in Google Firebase (Authentication
and Cloud Firestore), hosted in the europe-west1 region. Access
is restricted by Firebase security rules so that each user can only read and
write their own data.
A copy of recent mood entries is also cached on your device using AsyncStorage so the app works offline. You can clear this by signing out or uninstalling.
When you open the "Insight" tab and request a refresh, a summary of your recent mood entries (up to 30 entries, including timestamps, mood values, optional notes, weather strings, and place names) is sent through our secure server proxy to a third-party AI provider (OpenRouter, routing to Google Gemini) for analysis. The provider returns a JSON summary which is shown to you and not stored on our servers.
We do not share your email or full identity with the AI provider — only the mood content needed to produce the insight. The AI provider's privacy policy applies to that processing: openrouter.ai/privacy and Google's privacy policy.
MoodFlow contains no advertising. The app is free to use with optional premium subscriptions. We do not collect or use your device's advertising identifier, and no ad networks are integrated in the app.
Premium subscriptions are managed using RevenueCat together with the Apple App Store and Google Play billing systems. When you purchase or restore a subscription, we (via RevenueCat) receive your subscription status and store transaction identifiers to unlock premium features and validate the purchase across your devices.
All payment processing is handled by Apple or Google. We never receive or store your full payment card details. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
We use Sentry to capture crash reports and diagnostic data (such as device model, operating system version, app version, and error traces) so we can find and fix problems. This data is used only to improve the app's stability. See Sentry's privacy policy.
We retain your account and mood data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all data associated with it is removed from Firestore and Firebase Authentication within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
MoodFlow is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under that age. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.
We use Firebase's transport encryption (HTTPS / TLS) for all data in transit and Google's at-rest encryption for stored data. Firestore security rules prevent any user from reading another user's data. No system can be guaranteed 100% secure; we will notify affected users in the event of a breach.
Your information may be processed by our service providers in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
